Bushmeat

The “bushmeat ” is the name given to the meat of wild animals , sought after by many enthusiasts among others on the African continent and the countries of strong African immigration.

It includes animals hunted in the bush in forest , sometimes in wetlands, including for example the monkey but also the bat , the antelope , the elephant , the snake ,  etc.

In search of exoticism or heavy feeling, the traveler may feed a meat unfit for human consumption: the presence of parasites or pathogens ( viruses , bacteria ) is common. This economy, the responsibility of non-timber forest products , however, is generally not regulated, it is sometimes likely to drift in poaching . This practice is more common in developing countries or underdeveloped with a vast natural habitat and a wide fauna , such as India , some countries of Africa or of Central America .
