Great Ape Project

Great Ape Project ( GAP ), founded in 1994, is an international organization of primatologists , from psychologists , specialists of ethics and other experts who advocate a “bill of rights ape” of the United Nations so be conferred the fundamental rights legal to apes non-humans as chimpanzees , the bonobos , the gorillas and orangutans . The proposed fees are the right to life, protection of the freedom individual and the prohibition of torture.

The organization also monitors individual activity ape the United States through a census program. Once these rights are established, GAP intends to require the release of the great apes in captivity
